Steve Kittrick to deal with AFC Telford stars
AFC Telford United manager Steve Kittrick is aiming to get deals on the table for a number of his prized assets within days.
Kittrick is hopeful of agreeing his playing budget for the next campaign by the end of the week and will aim to put terms to a handful of players following Saturday's home clash with Wrexham.
The Bucks chief is currently concentrating on his team's final game of the season but his attention will switch firmly to recruitment following the final whistle at the New Bucks Head.
He said:"I am hoping to get the budget set this week, so hopefully after the presentation night I can get one or two people sorted.
"I would say it will be next week. We have got a big game at the weekend and then when it all settles down I will be able to get deals on the table to people and see where they are."
Kittrick has made no secret of his desire to retain a number of the current squad with Sean Clancy, Godfrey Poku, James Montgomery and Tony Gray among them.
The Telford boss has also stated that he would like to retain midfielder Jack Rea, provided he can put his current injury problems behind him.
Kittrick's attention is currently fixed on helping Telford finish a disappointing season on a winning note.
The Bucks were relegated from the Conference with four games to play following their 1-1 draw with Kidderminster Harriers earlier this month.
But they have won their last three matches on the bounce and will be determined to make it four against the Dragons.
Kittrick, who took over the managerial reins in December, found his first career relegation tough to digest.
But he has been pleased with the team's recent performances, saying: "I have set standards and they have kept up to those standards recently.
"And they have got to do it until the season finishes on Saturday.
"We have got to make sure we continue this little bit of a run we are on."
