The Bucks, who are already relegated, rode their luck at times as the Imps missed some inviting second-half chances.

But they snatched the points with a terrific set piece move as an unmarked Byrne nodded home from Adam Farrell's free-kick.

Tom Miller should have given Lincoln a third minute lead with a powerful header from Ben Tomlinson's corner-kick.

But goalkeeper James Montgomery got down well to save his powerful header from close range and Tony Gray almost put Telford ahead seven minutes later.

His half volley, from Bradley Reid's clever flick-on, only missed the near post by a few inches with Imps goalkeeper Paul Farman stretching.

Gray then wasted a very inviting free-kick opportunity thrashing over from 20 yards and Tomlinson headed just over from a free-kick at the other end soon afterwards.

The action continued to ebb and flow and Jordan Burrow missed a great chance to put the visitors in front eight minutes before half-time.

He escaped his marker in the box to meet Tomlinson's cross but could not hit the target from close range as his effort cleared the far post.

And Telford survived another near miss when Montgomery almost sliced a back pass into his own net, following a bad bobble on an uneven pitch.

Reid should have put Telford in front five minutes after the re-start, but could only head over from a Clancy free-kick.

But Jon Nolan prodded a glorious chance wide from Kegan Everington's cross, as the Imps counter attacked at pace.

Everington also missed the target with a gilt-edged chance with the goal gaping, firing wide from a great position on 62 minutes.

Substitute Delano Sam-Yorke had the ball in the net on 71 minutes, but the strike was disallowed for a high footed challenge in the build up.

Sam Smith and Clancy both went close in the final quarter of the game, the former heading wide from free kick and the latter seeing his low drive blocked in the box.

But Byrne ensured the Bucks would take the spoils with a firm header late on, which earned Telford back-to-back league wins for just the second time this season.
