Tony Gray is gunning for a AFC Telford win
AFC Telford United striker Tony Gray insists personal milestones are secondary as he aims to reach the 20-goal mark for the season at home to Lincoln City.
Gray, who netted his 19th of the campaign in Monday's 3-0 win at Southport, wants to end the team's unenviable home record.
Already-relegated Telford have gone almost five months without a home Conference Premier win since they defeated Altrincham 2-1 on November 12 last year.
And 31-year-old Gray said: "We massively need a win for the fans on Saturday. They deserve a win."
The Bucks came close to ending that hoodoo at home to Kidderminster Harriers last Saturday, having led 1-0 entering the last 13 minutes.
But a defensive mistake by Sean Clancy allowed Callum Gittings in to score a 78th-minute equaliser.
That goal not only ensured the run would continue, but also condemned bottom-of-the-table Telford to the drop with four games to spare.
Gray said: "The performances haven't been great at home. It was OK on Saturday. I think we worked hard and probably should have got a win, but it is massive the we get a win on Saturday."
Gray netted 24 goals in the non-league's top flight in 2011-12 to help Southport finish seventh.
But the player admitted that suffering relegation with Telford this season has taken the shine off what has been a superb campaign for him.
He said: "I have scored 20 goals before. When I played at Southport we had a great season, finished seventh and I got 20-odd goals.
"Considering the position we are in I think it would be a big achievement for me to get 20, although the way the season has gone for the team massively takes the shine off it."
