Kittrick delivers home truths after defeat
Frustrated AFC Telford manager Steve Kittrick has criticised the desire and quality of some of his players following Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Forest Green Rovers.
The Bucks chief had been pleased with his team's display for three quarters of the game, in which they kept Ady Pennock's promotion contenders off the scoresheet.
But a late collapse saw Telford ship three goals in the final 25 minutes.
Kittrick said: "It comes down to game management again and let's be honest, there are players that aren't good enough.
"There's too many Conference North players, and whether they like it or they don't that is the truth.
"You have got to have players that know how to play at this level and I am afraid we have got too many that don't."
The defeat Telford leaves 10 points from safety at the foot of the Conference Premier with just 13 games remaining.
The Bucks did appear to be turning a corner following Kittrick's arrival in December.
But after taking eight points from a possible 12 in his first four league games in charge, they have now claimed just one from their last four.
Kittrick said: "It was never going to be easy. We had a good little run but we were always going to fall off the log a little bit.
"But it is the effort and a little bit of know-how and a bit of craft that we need.
"And there's one or two people that you' wont be able to change because they don't know how and what it takes to play in the Conference. And, really, they shouldn't even be playing in it if I am totally honest. But it is what it is so we have just got to get on with it.
"You have got to put a shift in and there are too many of them in there that it doesn't hurt enough (when we lose).
"I have had a go at two people in the dressing room afterwards.I won't name them, but they have got to look at themselves and come with a better attitude."
