Monday is D-Day for a new AFC Telford boss
AFC Telford United hope to name their new manager in time for Monday's FA Trophy replay away to Chester.
The Bucks have narrowed the hunt down to five candidates to succeed Liam Watson, who was sacked last weekend.
The club will be holding their final round of interviews today and tomorrow with a view to naming their new permanent boss on Monday.
Managing director Lee Carter said: "Hopefully, by the time we pitch up at Chester our fans will know who our next manager is.
"I am sure we will be in a position to announce that on Monday. We interviewed on Thursday, and we will be interviewing today and tomorrow."
The Bucks had whittled a response of more than 30 applicants down to a shortlist of just four.
And they have also approached two other candidates to discuss the vacant post, including fans' favourite Marcus Bignot, who then ruled himself out of the running to remain with Conference North promotion hopefuls Solihull Moors.
Carter said: "We made an approach to Solihull to ask for permission to talk to Marcus Bignot.
"We made an approach to another individual earlier in the week with a view to speaking to them.
"So, in effect it has been a shortlist of six and six very good candidates. Obviously, Marcus has ruled himself out now so we will consider from the rest.
"And I am certain we will get a very good manager for the club out of the group."
Ex-Chester boss Neil Young, former Hereford United manager Martin Foyle, ex-Mansfield chief Paul Cox and ex-Sheffield Wednesday defender Greg Fee have all been linked with the post.
They came along with former Shrewsbury coaches John McMahon and John Trewick, and Rapid Bucuresti assistant boss Mario Marinica.
Carter claims that the club's current managerial search is the most extensive conducted in it's 10-year history and he believes it will pay dividends.
He said: "We wanted to be as comprehensive as possible so that meant not just looking people who have applied to us, but also identifying people that might want to talk to us as well.
"I am confident that it has been more thorough this time and we will come out with a very good candidate at the end of it."
