Todd relishing his dual role at Bucks
AFC Telford player-coach Andy Todd is relishing his double duty at the New Bucks Head.
The 35-year-old, who has won the non-league's top tier with both Mansfield and Accrington Stanley, was snapped up by the Bucks in the summer.
Despite Telford's disappointing start to the Conference Premier campaign, he has thrived in his new roles on and off the field.
Todd, who started his career with Nottingham Forest in 1996, said: "What I have lost from my younger age I have gained a lot more in terms of experience and knowledge, and I am really enjoying contributing on and off the field as much as I can.
"It is nice to feel respected by some of the younger players and I am still playing because I have got a love for the game."
Despite this, both he and his team-mates are desperate to turn their current form on its head.
For many of the team, this is their first season in the non-league's top tier.
And Todd admitted It has been a steep learning curve for many of the part-time outfit, who train twice a week, adjusting to the demands of a predominantly full-time division.
But he is determined to do all he can to improve the Bucks' league standing in the coming weeks and help fire them off the foot of the table.
Todd said: "I know at the minute we are sitting at the bottom of the table but I am doing all I can to make sure we can get as many points as we can as quickly as possible.
"But it is a steep learning curve because what they are doing from a training point of view is very similar to what they were doing last season.
"The difference now is that when you play on a Saturday and Tuesday night, you are coming up against players that are training those extra two days a week and have played this particular standard before."
