The Bucks went to Shropshire Golf Centre for 18 holes with a difference, as they put their best foot forward on the course.

Foot Golf is a summer initiative to arrive at the Shropshire, with no clubs required. Players are instead challenged to ping the ball with their right or left peg.

It couldn't help but raise a laugh among the Telford squad, raising their spirits after a win-less start to the Conference Premier season.

Sunday's 2-0 defeat at home to Aldershot came three games in, with Watson keen to settle his stars down before Saturday's potentially-daunting trip to Bristol Rovers.

He said: "They started following me on Twitter and asked if we fancied having a go in pre-season which, really, wasn't the time or place.

"But I felt we would need a little bit of a chill out after a big runs of games, so last night was perfect. It's probably fell at a nice time.

"I knew we would have some tough times all through the season and it's important to get some smiles back on the players faces.

"Where we finish is not going to be decided playing the bigger teams in our division, it's against sides at the other end of the table where we need to pick our wins up."

The Bucks boss and assistant Dominic Morley joined in last night and soon found there's an art to foot golf, which suited some better than efforts.

A big hoof forward only gets you so far, with precision passing required to reach the end of the course, where the ball players mostly landed first.

Watson said: "I have seen foot golf before - and it's exactly what it says on the tin. You have a tee and then you try and place the ball, as you normally would.

"It was the first time I'd had a go myself and you do need a bit of quality in your passing. I had a bit of a mess around with Dom and it soon got competitive.

"He was always a good passer of the ball as a player as are Charlie Barnett, Wes Baynes and Sean Cooke in our squad."
