Russell Benjamin is close to Stockport move
AFC Telford United midfielder Russell Benjamin could complete his move to Stockport County next week.
A deal has already been agreed with the fallen Football League side with the 21-year-old set to sign for the Skrill Conference North outfit for a nominal fee.
Benjamin, who has a year left on his contract at Telford, has been to Edgeley Park to discuss terms.
Telford assistant boss Dominic Morley said: "Russell is still having talks and getting things sorted. I haven't heard anything about the move stalling or being put on hold.
"As far as I know, he was agreeing personal terms and was close to signing. We have a deal in place with Stockport and it's in his best interests.
"He wasn't figuring much for us towards the end of last season and we are looking to strengthen again. The percentages are he won't figure much."
