Liam Watson is only focussed on AFC Telford

AFC Telford United boss Liam Watson takes his side to Oxford City insisting he will be paying no attention to events with title rivals North Ferriby United.

The Bucks go into tonight's clash at Marsh Lane on top of the Skrill Conference North table by a point, after Saturday's 3-1 win at home to Altrincham.

The second-placed Villagers are also in action this evening, away at struggling Stalybridge Celtic before another trip to Alty on what could be a crucial Saturday.

Watson's side will also travel twice this week, too, with Colwyn Bay the next hosts but they are five games away from the title, with their fate in their own hands.

That's left the Telford chief only concerning himself with his own's teams output and he has every confidence in his players to churn out the results required.

He said: "We have got a hand on the title going into the last five games of the season, so I don't really care what other teams are doing. It's up to us to finish the job.

"We just need to make sure our quality is good, we press and work hard. If we can do that, it's going to take a good side to beat us.

"We want it in our own hands on the last day of the season, that's all we should be looking at it. If we are on our game, we will be fine."

Telford are likely to have to do without Wes Baynes again tonight, as the right-back is still recovering from the knee injury that forced him to miss the Alty match.

The Bucks have scored in all 18 away league matches this season and, with the exception of Baynes and midfielder Alan Moogan, all first-team regulars are off the mark.

Watson said: "We haven't really had a consistent goalscorer, I know Adam Farrell has chipped in with 15 but we have found a little niche for him in the team being where he is.

"To be where we are with goals coming from all over the pitch is a team effort, teams play Telford not worrying about a certain player but worrying about us."
