This week marked a decade since the old Telford United filed for bankruptcy, sowing the seeds for reforming as the new 'AFC' brand.

Watson's Class of 2014 are gunning for promotion from the Skrill Conference North to the Premier, where the old club ended its life.

But the Bucks boss believes their modern day set-up could go one better and make it to the promised land that they targeted from the start.

He said: "I would actually go another way and say this is a Football League club in waiting, 100 per cent. Fan base wise, it could hold its own, no doubt about that.

"You look at the ground and the facilities, where we train and the off-the-field things we do like the Goal Zone and with the community, it's all got so much potential.

"My job, simply, is to get Telford back into the Conference Premier and there's only one pressing issue with me, at the moment, and that's winning this league."

Player-coach Alan Moogan is a stalwart of Watson's sides that plied their trade in the Premier at Southport and knows what;s required.

The 29-year-old midfielder believes he's playing for a far bigger name now and reckons the current squad could make the jump a seamless transaction.

He said: "Let's gets the lads organised and win the title – and it would probably be the best achievement of my career so far.

"It's a step up and a different style of football, too, which would suit a lot of the players we have here."
