Robbie Booth rejoins AFC Telford's promotion push
AFC Telford United winger Robbie Booth is likely to be back in training for the buoyant Bucks tonight as they sit on top of the Skrill Conference North.
The club are enjoying a second week at the summit with Booth desperate to rejoin the push for promotion, having not been considered for the last two games.
Flu has placed him on the sidelines but the wide-man is now approaching full health from the same problem that has sidelined Tony Gray and Russell Benjamin.
The squad will be put through their paces tonight having been told by manager Liam Watson they are unlikely to be given another Tuesday off.
They were allowed a break last week after three games in seven days, but were below their best in Saturday's 2-1 win at home to Bradford Park Avenue.
And Watson believes that's partly due to not being fully prepared for the Skrill Conference North contest, something he will not allow to happen again this time.
He said: "I made a major mistake with that. In my wisdom, I gave them the night off last Tuesday from training because of all of the games we have had.
"We won on the Saturday against Stockport County on a heavy pitch, we went to Worcester on the Tuesday and worked hard before going to Vauxhall Motors on the Saturday.
"Now I am thinking that if they have got to work their socks off for the last eight weeks of the season, so be it."
Telford are still top of the table by two points and next head to struggling Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday, with 11-goal top scorer Adam Farrell set to spearhead their attack.
The 24-year-old has been a revelation since arriving from AFC Flyde last summer, with winger Mike Phenix plucked from the same level with Skelmersdale United.
Defensive midfielder Mike Grogan arrived in September from two divisions below with Cammell Laird, and has netted 10 goals.
Watson said: "For them to be battling at the top of this division in their first season – and actually making a major contribution – is a credit to them."
