Liam Watson issues warning to AFC Telford players
Manager Liam Watson today warned the month of March will be no walkover as AFC Telford edge closer to the season's finish line.
A productive February has put Watson's side firmly in the mix for promotion from the Skrill Conference North back to the Premier at the first attempt.
Telford travel to Stalybridge Celtic and Leamington and welcome Histon and Oxford City to the New Bucks Head in March, with them all in the bottom half of the table.
But the Bucks have come a cropper to the likes of Bradford Park Avenue, Leamington and Barrow this season, so Watson won't take anything for granted.
He said: "We took 13 points out of 15 in February and we need another month like that, so we go into the back end of the season in good form.
"Thinking this month is easy would be a fallacy, we have been unbeaten against all of the top sides but we have dropped points at other places.
"We wouldn't want to give people ammunition by classing them as lesser teams, we just have to beat what's in front of us. The only good fixture is one you have won."
Watson believes a settled squad has been key with just one signing, Mike Grogan, and a loan player, Shaun Whalley, brought in since the start of the season.
Chris Lever, Wes Baynes, Russell Benjamin, Sean Clancy and Tony Gray all signed up to two-year contracts last summer, so are in it for the long haul.
Watson said: "The players have put us in a fabulous position and I think we have given the fans something to look forward to and get behind again.
"These lads have certainly given Telford an identity again."
