Liam Watson hopes to secure Shaun Whalley for AFC Telford

AFC Telford United boss Liam Watson remains confident of completing the signing of Luton Town attacker Shaun Whalley in time for Saturday's trip to North Ferriby – despite Hatters boss John Still casting doubt on the move.

Still was reported today as stating that Whalley will leave Kenilworth Road for a month's loan to get his form back – but that Telford was not the definite destination.

"That's a maybe, nothing's been done on that yet, there's been a enquiry, and we've been talking," said Still.

AFC Telford today confirmed that the paperwork for the deal had not yet been finalised but Watson said: "As far as I am concerned it's done. He will play on Saturday."

The move would see Whalley reunited with his former boss, having played for Watson at Southport.
