Liam Watson has long-term plan for AFC Telford's Martyn Jackson
AFC Telford United manager Liam Watson today told midfielder Martyn Jackson not to lose any sleep if he doesn't nail down a first-team place this season.
Jackson will extend his loan spell at Witton Albion for a second month this week, where he netted his first goal in senior football at the end of last month.
It's the 19-year-old's third stint in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, after one-month spells at Stafford Rangers and Skelmersdale United earlier this season.
The former Manchester United and Burnley youngster has only made one competitive appearance for the Bucks, as a late substitute against Solihull Moors in August.
But Watson said: "He's done well there, as he did at Stafford Rangers and Skelmersdale United, too. He's progressing and that doesn't surprise me, as I think he's a good player.
"From my point of view, I hope it's next season when he gets a run in the team, because that would mean our lads have done well and kept him out.
"I just thought he deserved a year with us to see if he could come through, that's always been the plan."
