The table-toppers have reached the quarter-finals of the competition, after a resounding 4-0 win at Conference Premier side Lincoln City 4-0 on Saturday.

The Villagers being out of action left it as you were at the summit, where they lead Telford on goal difference and third-placed Altrincham by two points.

Telford's trip to Alty was postponed on Saturday and they head to North Ferriby next weekend, after Saturday's visit of Barrow to the New Bucks Head.

The current pace-setters then play their trophy tie at home to Gosport Borough on Saturday February 1, while Watson's side are at home to Guiseley.

And the Bucks boss wants to make sure his team capitalise whenever there is a chance to get one over on Ferriby, which may well happen when they are in cup action.

He said: "With Ferriby being at the top, it puts a different slant on any game we play where they are in the trophy. When they don't play, we have to make sure that we win.

"It's alright having games in hand but the points on the board are the most important, so they become must-win for us. We can start looking at that as part of the run-in."

Ferriby still have a game in hand at the top despite Telford losing two fixtures in a week to the weather, Tuesday night's trip to Worcester City before the game at Alty.

Watson will be put the squad through their paces at training tonight and hard yards will be the order of the day, to replace the fitness lost in the two call-offs.

The Telford chief has previously arranged two friendlies earlier in the season, when the team have had two weeks out of action, but doesn't feel it necessary this time.

He said: "It wasn't bad losing the Worcester game, but it was a bit of a sickener to lose the match on Saturday. I won't be arranging a friendly, the lads just need a good running session.

"They will get worked hard tonight, we know what sessions to do which will be beneficial to us, at this time of year."
