Telford's Dan Preston loaned to Stourbridge
AFC Telford United defender Dan Preston is leaving on loan to join Stourbridge - and will be in line to play in the Glassboys' big FA Cup tie at Stevenage.
Preston completed a one-month spell at Conference North rivals Barrow last week and now links up with the Southern League Premier Division front-runners.
The War Memorial Ground is a short journey from his home in Birmingham and the 22-year-old's month will take in with a massive cup game at the League One club.
Preston returned to the Bucks carrying slight injury niggles but is fit and ready to temporarily leave once again, with manager Liam Watson's green-lighting the move.
He said: "Dan will probably be going on loan to Stourbridge, that should go through tonight so he will be able to play on Saturday and in the cup for them.
"It will be for a month and then see where it goes, he just wants and needs to be playing games and he's not been doing that here this season.
"Stourbridge is local to where he lives, so it's a good move all around. I can understand why. Sometimes, you just need to play."
Watson's side have their own cup clash to contend with on Saturday, as they head to another league rival in Worcester City for an FA Trophy first round contest.
The Bucks are buoyant after four straight wins in all competitions and stand just a point from the top of the table, despite sitting sixth. But, for now, the trophy is Watson's focus.
He said: "We want to go as far as we can in the trophy, just like we want to go all of the way in the league. Every game is a big game for us now."
Meanwhile, the New Bucks Head prepares to host their next fixture of the UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship revelling in how their role has gone so far.
A tournament record of 2,185 attended the opening ceremony and England's game against Italy on Tuesday afternoon, while 404 watched Portugal and Austria that night.
They now stage the Group B game between two of the top three ranked teams in the world as France take on Germany, kicking off tomorrow afternoon at 12.30pm.
Admission to the game is £3 for adults and £1.50 for concessions. The Sir Stephen Roberts stand only is open for this event.
