AFC Telford United's four-game unbeaten run in the Skrill Conference North came to an abrupt end with a 4-2 defeat at fallen Football League club Stockport County.

Sean Cooke's free-kick cancelled out Rhys Turner's opener but goals from captain Keiran Charnock, James Tunnicliffe and Kristian Dennis led County to three points, despite Tunji Moses' own goal.

Telford had rattled the woodwork with just three minutes on the clock, Andy Owens' long throw into the box causing enough confusion for Phil Jevons to head against his own crossbar and out of play.

The Bucks were made to pay for that miss on nine minutes when Stockport took the lead through Turner, who was freed to finish one-on-one by a threaded ball through from Moses.

A golden chance went begging for Telford to level in the 14th minute when a long ball saw Owens outmuscle the Stockport defence to free Cooke, who was impeded by Charnock.

Up stepped Sean Clancy to fire to the goalkeeper's right but Ryan Jones was equal to his low effort, palming the ball away from goal.

It took a moment of magic from Cooke to haul the Bucks level on 19 minutes, from a 20-yard set piece that dropped over the wall and past the dive of Jones on its way into the net.

Stockport regained the lead on 32 minutes, Nicky Platt's cross finding Charnock to slide the ball home at the back post.

Tony Gray missed a golden chance to level for Telford just before half-time, as he could only steer the ball wide unmarked six yards out after being found by Mike Grogan's flick on.

Stockport started to take command on the hour with a bullet header from Tunnicliffe, as Telford experienced more problems defending the far post from Scott Duxbury's delivery into the box.

The home side sealed their win with 13 minutes to go in virtually the same spot through Dennis, who poised himself and applied the finish from Kyle Jacobs' cross.

They made life a little harder for themselves when Moses put through his own net a minute later, turning substitute Matthew McGinn's short corner past his own goalkeeper.
