AFC Telford's Alan Moogan hit by surgery delay
AFC Telford United player-coach Alan Moogan is still waiting to go under the knife for groin surgery after a slight delay on his operation date.
The procedure, which is being funded by the Professional Footballers Association, has been put on hold while the paperwork is processed.
However, Bucks manager Liam Watson is still confident Moogan will be seen to and then start his recovery, by the time they return to competitive action at Stockport County a week on Saturday.
The 29-year-old is expected to be out until Christmas having already missed nine games of the season, but a few extra days shouldn't take him off course of his comeback target.
Watson said: "There's been a bit of a problem with the PFA so it's been delayed a week. But I would have thought it's imminent, although I don't know the exact day.
"It will be done over this next couple of weeks, definitely."
Midfielder Martyn Jackson is on the mend, after returning from a loan spell at Stafford Rangers with an ankle injury.
The promising 19-year-old former Manchester United and Burnley youngster may go out on loan again, having done well at Stafford, but Watson insists that won't be until he's proved his fitness.
He said: "I don't think it's fair we let him out on loan again until he's 100 per cent right, it wouldn't be fair to Martyn or the club he would be going to."
"He's getting closer to the first-team but he needs to get a couple of hard training sessions under his belt before anything."
