AFC Telford battling on despite long injury list

AFC Telford United manager John Psaras insists his remaining players will be unfazed by the team's worsening injury crisis when they travel to Ebbsfleet.

The Bucks have eight players ruled out or doubtful for their trip to Stonebridge Road tomorrow because of injuries.

Defender Michael Briscoe (ankle) and midfielder Luke Hubbins (knee) will both miss the rest of the season joining Richard Davies (ankle), who was ruled out at the end of last month.

Meanwhile, Ian Craney (groin), Ryan Valentine (groin), Steve Jones (calf), Dan Preston (back) and Jay Smith (knee) are all doubtful for the game against their fellow strugglers.

Ebbsfleet will be relegated if they cannot beat the Bucks. And Psaras, who took over the reins as caretaker boss last month, admitted that his side will be depleted.

But he added: "I have got a team together. It is probably not the strongest side I would have liked to field.

"We had probably 19 fit players when I took over and we now have got eight on the treatment table that weren't accounted for in those days.

"So we have been unlucky with injuries but we just have to get on with it."

The Bucks chief saw his playing options reduced further this week after on-loan centre-back Simon Ford was recalled to his parent club Grimsby.
