AFC Telford are reeling as they set a new low

AFC Telford defender Michael Briscoe admitted the team were 'devastated' after Saturday's last-gasp defeat at Lincoln extend their winless run to a record 27 games and left them on the brink of relegation.

Jamie Taylor's 88th-minute strike completed a late fightback by the Imps, who had been trailing 2-1 with just 14 minutes remaining thanks to goals from Steve Jones and Steve Leslie.

The loss condemned the Bucks to a 27th consecutive league game without victory – setting an unenviable new Conference Record.

It also leaves them 12 points adrift at the foot of the table with just five games left to play, and on the verge of relegation from the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Briscoe, who has only recently returned from a six-month spell on the sidelines because of a back injury, said: "The lads are devastated but we will carry on going to the end whatever the situation and we will stay committed.

"I thought we out-played Lincoln and you could see the crowd were getting on their backs. But once you are down there it is difficult to get that win and even if we had drawn on Saturday, we need to be picking up three points in every game.

"It's been difficult. The players are disheartened but we have just got to push on and get that win against Nuneaton next weekend to give the fans something to cheer about because this season we could have done a lot, lot better.

"It's a horrible situation and every one has just got to stick together."

"The lads have been playing well but we just can't buy a result at the moment.
