AFC Telford midfielder Richard Davies will require an operation to help remedy his ankle injury.

But manager John Psaras is confident that right-sided utility player Luke Hubbins should be fit for this weekend's trip to Lincoln City.

Davies has been sidelined since the end of December after suffering a chipped bone in the first-half of the Bucks' 2-2 draw against Stockport County at Edgeley Park.

He has since made good progress and is close to a return to contention. Psaras revealed last week that he was feeling no pain when doing straight line running.

But a further scan of the injured area has revealed some bone fragments which will need to be removed.

Psaras said: "He has got some fragments of bone in there. The ligaments are fine. We are debating whether he has a clean out now or whether he risks it until the end of the season.

"It's something our medical staff are looking at."

Meanwhile, Hubbins is expected to be back in contention for the visit to Sincil Bank on Saturday.

He has missed the last three games because of a knee injury but Psaras is hopeful he will be fit.

He had hoped to include him in the squad for Tuesday's 2-1 defeat to Macclesfield Town but said: "He wasn't 100 per cent.

"There was no point bringing him on if there was a risk of him damaging it again and putting him back."
