AFC Telford boss targets an upset at Grimsby
New AFC Telford United manager Mark Cooper has declared "everyone is beatable" ahead of the Bucks' trip to Blue Square Premier league leaders Grimsby.
Cooper's relegation-threatened side will arrive at Blundell Park tomorrow two points adrift of safety and chasing a first league win in 18 games.
Their opponents, meanwhile, are currently three points clear of second-placed Wrexham.
The Mariners are also unbeaten in their last 16 matches in all competitions but Cooper insists his side will not be in awe.
He said: "It's a huge challenge but they are beatable. Everyone in this league you can beat, so we won't be worried about it.
"We will go and show the same application that we did against Cambridge United last Saturday and if we do that and get a little bit of luck who knows.
"You see upsets every week at every level. Grimsby will be rubbing their hands together because Telford haven't won for a long time but we are going there with a clear plan."
The former Kettering, Tamworth, Darlington and Peterborough United manager may well have a few new names on the team-sheet for his second match in charge.
Cooper was today expected to complete the signing of winger Bagasan Graham from League Two Cheltenham Town on loan.
And Cooper was also hopeful of adding another couple of players to his ranks in time for tomorrow.
Cooper has freed up funds to strengthen his squad by releasing goalkeeper Joe Collister and defender Joe Lamplough, while ending Gerard Kinsella's loan spell from Fleetwood.
