AFC Telford boss still on the hunt for new strikers
AFC Telford United manager Andy Sinton today resumed his chase for attackers with pace after his side failed to score for the third successive game at Kidderminster.
The Bucks boss managed to secure the services of striker Richard Peniket from Fulham yesterday ahead of his team's 1-0 defeat at Aggborough last night.
Sinton also challenged his misfiring attackers to rediscover their early-season form.
But he also reiterated he may well need further reinforcements to help inject the vital missing ingredients into his side's goal threat.
Defeat leaves Telford still two points adrift in the Blue Square Bet Premier drop zone, with games in hand stacking up for their relegation rivals.
Sinton said: "I need people who can create chances and score goals because that is three blanks in a row now. There is no question about the players' application or the attitude but we lack a little bit of quality going forward and probably a little bit of pace.
"Until we get that, which I am trying really hard to do, we are going be playing in front of teams.
"I have said to all the forward boys in the dressing room that they have got to start stepping up to the plate. All of our forward players who were flying at the start of the season have gone off the boil."
He added he has had great difficulty attracting experienced players to the New Bucks Head during the transfer window.
But he has been given the green light by a fellow Blue Square Premier side to bring in a forward – although the player may well wait until after the loan window re-opens to see what other options become available.
