AFC Telford defender Michael Briscoe is ready to play through the pain barrier to make his long-awaited debut for the club.
The former Kidderminster stopper, who joined the Bucks in the summer, has yet to play a game for his new club after being sidelined by first a broken nose and then a back injury.
The 29-year old is on the mend from both and is aiming to be back in contention for the trip to Luton Town a week on Saturday.
He admits he is still not feeling 100 per cent but is desperate to get involved in first-team action as soon as he can.
"I'm back in training now so give it a week or so and I will be back in contention for a place in the team," he said.
"I just want to get playing. I had a pain-numbing injection in my lower back.
"When we played Wolves I twisted funny in the warm-up but everything's fine there.
"I'll play through the pain barrier but it was the kind of niggle where it was affecting my nerve in my lower back and my leg and it is not fair on the team."
"The nose isn't 100 per cent but if you wait until everything is 100 per cent you'de never play. I'll start running again today.
"Hopefully I'll be in contention for Luton. Braintree might be a bit too soon."
