AFC Telford boss Andy Sinton this afternoon swooped for his second defensive addition of the summer by signing Michael Briscoe from Kidderminster Harriers.
The 5ft 10in centre-half, who turns 29 next week, follows right-back Luke Hubbins into AFC?Telford and has signed a one-year contract.
And Sinton is delighted to have wrapped up the signing of the Stourbridge-based player who he has tracked since the end of last season.
"Michael has been on the radar for quite a while," said the New Bucks Head chief. "He is good in the air and is somebody who is prepared to put his body on the line when he is defending.
"We know all about him as a player and all of the references I've received from people who have worked with him in the past say he is a really strong character.
"He has played a lot of games at this level and he has got the hunger to come in and do well for Telford. We want to bring players in who have drive and ambition and see it is a chance to offer something to the club.
"Michael fits into that and I think it's a good move for both parties."
Briscoe began his career at Coventry before moving to Macclesfield, where he spent two seasons playing in League Two.
That spell included a loan spell with Burton Albion under now Derby manager Nigel Clough before he moved on to Tamworth, where he spent three seasons.
Briscoe signed for Kidderminster in 2010 and made 54 starts for Harriers but was out of contract at Aggborough.
His arrival means the Bucks have now found a direct replacement for released club captain Shane Killock, who has since signed for Harrogate Town.
"We've now got three centre-backs which is what I wanted," added Sinton.
"Chris Blackburn has proved a good signing, Dan Preson did well last season and will get better and Michael Briscoe has got good experience of this level."
