Released AFC Telford United midfielder Jon Adams has accused Bucks boss Andy Sinton of picking players on reputation instead of form – and admits he has been resigned to leaving the New Bucks Head since before Christmas.

The creative midfielder was frozen out after the 4-0 FA Cup first round thrashing at Chelmsford City last year and hardly got a look-in thereafter.

"The writing's been on the wall since November," said Adams. "And it has been really frustrating because I just haven't been given a fair crack of the whip.

"I played quite regularly until the start of November and then my season was basically over, and I just didn't deserve that.

"We've had a few professional players join Telford who aren't as good as the part-time lads that were already there, but I think the manager has a bit of a blind spot when it comes to players who have played at a higher level.

"He has been picking players whose reputation precedes them rather than those whose performances have merited a place."

Adams, who signed for Telford back in August 2008, added: "The manager doesn't like his methods being questioned – it is very much his way or the highway, but I don't hold any grudge against him."
