David McDermott scored on his debut as AFC Telford United cantered to a friendly win over Mansfield at the New Bucks Head.
It may not have been worth any points, but the manner of the Bucks' victory over their Blue Square Premier rivals will have given the watching 283 spectators plenty to warm them in the February chill.
The Bucks romped to a 5-0 success against an all-be-it youthful Stags side with Kyle Perry netting twice while captain Shane Killock, debutant McDermott and substitute Nathan Rooney were also among the scorers.
The hosts were three up at the break and played with plenty of zip, zest and occasional over-zealousness to complete a five-star performance.
The trio of new faces in McDermott, Jon Brown and Ryan Brooke displayed plenty of potential, along with a mystery trialist at left-back, while Dwayne Samuels and Richard Davies deserve notable mentions.
There was even a five minute cameo from former Wolves striker Adam Proudlock, on his return from a broken ankle.
Perry, who looked a class above up front, opened the scoring from the penalty spot on nine minutes.
His quick throw sent Brown scampering down the right and, after he hassled Lawrence Gaughan into losing possession, the Mansfield trialist felled him and Perry made no mistake from 12 yards.
The Lincoln loanee added a second on 37 minutes, when he glanced home Jay Smith's flighted free kick from the left.
Killock had time to add a third in the final minute of the half. Again, it was a left wing set piece that undid the visitors.
This time it came from McDermott and, although goalkeeper Shane Redmond kept out Dan Preston's initial header, Killock was on hand to sweep home from two yards.
After the break, Telford continued where they left off and added a sublime fourth 10 minutes in. A neat flick by Brown found Burke in space and he drew the final defender, before playing in McDermott to finish.
A raft of substitutions disrupted the second-half as a spectacle, but substitute Nathan Rooney capped a fine evening's work by curling home an exquisite 86th minute fifth.
If the Bucks can continue this goalscoring form, then survival is surely not too far away.
