The New Saints are chasing Aberystwyth Town's flying wingman Geoff Kellaway as they look to bolster their squad ahead of this summer's Champions League campaign.

The double winners have for some time been an admirer of the 27-year-old who impressed in last week's Welsh Cup final, despite the Seasiders eventually losing 3-2 to the Saints.

Kellaway, who has scored 47 goals in the Welsh Premier, is understood to be interested in turning full-time provided he can negotiate suitable contract terms.

Meanwhile, highly-rated midfielder Sam Finley has handed the Saints an end-of-season boost by signing a new two-year deal.

As the players embark on a month's break before returning to training ahead of the Champions League qualifier in July, just a couple of contracts are still to be finalised.

Certainly staying is Finley, with the former Everton academy and Southport midfielder putting pen to paper for another two years after joining TNS from Warrington back in February 2012.

The 21-year-old has been watched by a number of Football League scouts and has recently been on trial with a Championship club. He was named in the Welsh Premier team of the season which was voted for by rival managers.

"We're delighted that Sam is staying with us. He is a young lad who has attracted the interest of a lot of clubs," said head coach Carl Darlington.

"He's a terrific talent. He had a great season for us which was shown by the fact that he walked away with three awards in the end of season presentation."

Finley won the young player of the year accolade, the players' player and the supporters' player while manager's player of the season went to Chris Seargeant. Greg Draper and Mike Wilde shared the top goalscorer awards with 16 goals apiece

The Saints have learned they will enter at the second qualifying round stage of the Champions League in mid July.

Their potential confirmed opponents at this stage are SPL champions Celtic, Bate Borisov of Belarus, Dinamo Zagreb (Croatia), Sheriff Tiraspol (Moldova), FK Aktobe (Kazakhstan), Ventspils (Latvia) and HJK Helsinki (Finland).
