Jack Twigger led the way with the ball with 4-22 for Wellington, Nathan Hooker top-scoring with 44 for the hosts.

Charlie Mackelworth hit 67 in Wellington’s response but 3-29 from Nabeel Asgahar and 3-36 from Matt Davison saved the day for Leamington as both teams picked up 15 points.

Wellington cricket chairman Simon Topper said: “Both our firsts and second-team matches finished in a tie – I don’t think that will happen again!”

A half-century from Ross Aucott proved in vain as Shifnal fell to a 38-run defeat at Moseley.

The visitors looked on course for a good day when, after winning the toss and electing to field, they had Moseley 65-7.

But ex-Warwickshire bowler Naqaash Tahir proved he can bat a bit too with 41 and Kishen Patel made 44 to frustrate Shifnal.

Jack Edwards and Alex Riley claimed four wickets apiece but Moseley were able to post a competitive 177 all out.

Wickets fell regularly throughout Shifnal’s reply, with only three batsmen reaching double figures.

Steve Leach made 12 but Aucott was unable to find support with Tahir (4-20) again showing his class.

A late 23 from Chris Murrall gave Shifnal hope but they fell to their first defeat of the season.

Bridgnorth suffered their second defeat of the campaign when they were comprehensively beaten at home by Smethwick.

Sunny Singh took 5-27 and Qasim Shah 4-29 as Bridgnorth collapsed to 110 all out. Ryan Lockley top scored with 24.

After the loss of two early wickets for nine, Vikram Sodhi (51 not out) and Waqar Saleem (40 not out) saw Smethwick to victory without further alarm.
