Oliver Westbury tipped to be a big hit
Shrewsbury skipper Rob Foster is predicting a big future for rising star Oliver Westbury following his debut for England Under-19s.
The Worcestershire academy ace plays alongside Foster for the Birmingham & District League Premier Division outfit.
Westbury fell agonisingly short of a double hundred when he was dismissed for a superb 196 on the second day of the first Test against Sri Lanka.
The former Shrewsbury School pupil has impressed at London Road following his winter switch from Himley and has also played Minor Counties cricket for Shropshire this summer.
Foster said: "I'm delighted for Ollie, but not surprised. He's a really good lad and fitted into the club.
"He's done fantastically well for us and Worcestershire this year and it's really pleasing to see him do so well.
"He is so chilled for a young lad and has good powers of concentration. He has the ability to bat for long periods of time, which is pretty rare in young players.
"That normally develops later on. He has an unflappable temperament. If he plays and misses or doesn't score for a while, it doesn't bother him.
"He's a very mature cricketer for his age and I think he will go a long way."
England declared on 499-9 with Sri Lanka 96-2 in reply at stumps.
