The deal, which has been renewed for a third year, could also see talented youngsters from Shropshire join the full Warwickshrie Academy.

Players from the county who have taken part in the Warwickshire Performance Programme in the past couple of years include Shrewsbury's George Hargrave, 14, and Wellington's Rachael Howells, 18.

Top Shropshire coaches Luke Swann, Ian Gregory and Luke Sharples, will also get the chance to work with Warwickshire coach Dougie Brown and his staff as part of the deal.

Shropshire Cricket Board performance director Steve Aston said: "Young players with Shropshire will be offered the chance to attend holiday courses and access one-to-one coaching, both at Edgbaston."

He said Shropshire's member clubs would also be offered secondary affiliation to the Warwickshire Board giving them a range of offers for First class and international matches at Edgbaston. The same will apply to affiliated secondary schools in the county, of which there were 21 in the last two years.

Steve said: "They will again have the opportunity to gain free access to Warwickshire County Championship and T20 Blast matches as well as international match ticket offers."

It is also possible one county squad will get the chance to be mascots for the day at an international match at Edgbaston.
