Shropshire captain is bowled over by success
Delighted Shropshire skipper Richard Oliver praised the impact of the team's bowlers following a 37-run victory at Suffolk.
The county side had set a formidable total of 230-7 from 50 overs in the MCCA Knockout Trophy Group Two clash before dismissing their hosts for 193-9.
Tom Cox led the scoring yesterday with an unbeaten 58, while Rob Foster and Alex Blofield both added 44 each.
But it was with the ball that Blofield in particular shone as he took five wickets to help destroy the hosts' batting line up.
Elliott Green and Bilal Shafayat also took two each to help Shropshire to a comfortable victory.
The win follows on from Shropshire's six-wicket win over Lincolnshire in the opening game of the competition last month.
Oliver said afterwards: "Alex was the stand out bowler. Our spinners were a real threat and a game changer.
"I am on cloud nine after that result but the challenge is not to win two out of two, it is to win three out of three and then four out of four etc."
Shropshire were back in action against Norfolk today.
