The hosts took all 12 games, with Peter Farmer recording their biggest win on the night, beating Keiron Cooper 21-2.
Three games finished 21-20 though, with Russell Pegram, Martyn France and Daniel Hand edging out visitors by the narrowest of margins.
The result puts Newport five points ahead of second-placed Chester Road, albeit having played a game more.
Meanwhile, St Georges now sit in fourth place after a comfortable 11-3 home win over Wrockwardine Wood.
Simon Rhodes recorded their best win as he defeated Stuart Clee to one. Ryan Stevens, Stuart Rutter and Phil Clee earned the visitors their three points on the night with wins to eight, 14 and 12 respectively.
