Shawbury United face another crucial clash in their bid to avoid relegation
Shawbury United face another crucial six-pointer in their battle against relegation tomorrow (3pm).
Seven days on from being dumped back in the bottom three by a 2-0 defeat at Alsager Town, Shawbury can climb straight back out by overcoming Wolverhampton Casuals at home.
Second-bottom Haughmond have also clawed their way back into the conversation for survival after winning each of their last two, but face a tough trip to play-off chasing Sandbach United tomorrow.
Meanwhile, boss Dan Dawson feels positive Market Drayton Town’s performances show consistent victories are on the way.
Town returned to winning ways with a late show and 3-1 victory over basement boys Wolverhampton Sporting to lift themselves to 14th, five points clear of the drop zone.
Drayton hope to build on a first victory of 2026 with Saturday's trip to face Barnton in Cheshire. The seventh-placed hosts are the last side Drayton recorded a victory against prior to last weekend, having done so in late November when Konnor Higgins was the hero with the winner.
Dawson said: "We've just got to start bring clinical in front of goal. The results will come because the performance was there, it was just poor finishing that meant we left it late. We've go to get on top of that."
Allscott Heath suffered a 6-1 hammering at home to second-placed Eccleshall in midweek - despite taking a seventh-minute lead through Matthew Jones.
They are safely in mid-table at the moment, ahead of travelling to Ashville tomorrow.
And Telford Town will look to hold on to their play-off position when they host New Mills.
Shifnal Town have slipped six points behind the race for the Northern One West play-offs after a tough start to the year.
However, they still hold two games in hand and will start to look moving back in the right direction when they host relegation-threatened Sporting Khalsa tomorrow.
Whitchurch Alport exited the TJ Vickers Shropshire Cup at the hands of AFC Bridgnorth in an all-Midland League encounter on Tuesday night.
A tight contest was settled by one goal just before half-time when Bridgnorth’s Kosheen Sappleton slotted home from the penalty spot.
Alport will look to bounce back at home to Premier Division leaders Northwich Victoria tomorrow in what would be just their second league game since Boxing Day.
Meanwhile, Bridgnorth - who saw last weekend’s clash with Heather St John's fall victim to the weather - are back in league action away to Coventry Copsewood.
And in Hellenic League Division One, mid-table Ludlow Town will look to build on their impressive fightback at high-flyers Wantage Town when they host Chipping Sodbury Town.
