Dave Edwards: Shrewsbury cannot let the positivity from the weekend fizzle out

In the end, it is superb for Shrewsbury Town to come away from Wigan with a point.

After 60 minutes, it looked like that was not going to happen, and there was no chance of them getting anything from the game.

But this could be a turning point for Shrewsbury with some really important games coming up over the Christmas period.

Salop showed some real fight, desire and resilience in the second half, which has really been lacking in recent weeks with some poor performances and the team conceding a lot of goals.

Even though it was only a draw and one point, it does feel like more of a win for Gareth Ainsworth and Town.

It means they are only nine points away from getting out of the relegation zone rather than 10 - that doesn't seem like a great deal of difference, but from a momentum perspective, it is good to stop those losses as it was three on the bounce.

One thing that is for sure is they need to start picking up three points because if they do not do it soon, their slim chance of survival is going to get worse.
