Tristan and Corin Smith from the Combat Athlete Martial Arts Academy in Ketley were part of a UK elite squad.

They returned home with nine gold, five silver and one bronze medal from the NAGA Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Dortmund.

Tristan,13, won double gold in both Gi and No Gi divisions while Corin, 14, struck gold in No Gi and bagged a silver in Gi after a tough final against a fellow UK elite team member.

Both entered the expert division which allowed them to test their skills and win an impressive belt.

Proud father Gavin Smith said: "After becoming world champions in California earlier in the year, and achieving gold in several British competitions, they are having a great year.

"We are looking forward to what the future holds. They have worked very hard for what they have achieved and really deserve it.

"We have one of the head coaches of the UK BJJ Elite Squad teaching at Combat Athlete in Telford.

"I expect that we will start to see more talented students from Telford progress towards world competitions and put Telford Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on the map."
