Shrewsbury Town keen on a AFC Telford link-up
Shrewsbury Town chief executive Matt Williams is set to meet AFC Telford supremo Lee Carter to discuss closer ties between the clubs.
Williams has been vocal in recent months about developing better links with Town's biggest county neighbour.
And he is due to meet Bucks' managing director Carter soon to talk about the matter. He said: "Lee and I exchanged messages and are due to meet in the coming weeks."
Telford chairman Ian Dosser added: "We welcome having a dialogue with him and welcome a meeting to see how we can help each other."
Williams said there are several young players within Town's ranks who would benefit from playing in the Conference North, which is where Telford will feature next season.
And he believes that establishing a better working relationship would benefit both sides, on and off the pitch.
He said: "I am keen to build closer links and the willingness is there to loan players to Telford.
"We have players that we would be looking to loan out to the Conference and Conference North next season.
"We want our players going out and playing football that matters on a Saturday. I'd also like our respective community schemes to work together for the benefit of the people of Shropshire."
Williams added that the club already has good ties with Evo-Stik First Division South side Market Drayton as well as West Midlands Regional League outfits Ellesmere Rangers and Wem Town.
Telford have also been keen to establish better links with their Football League neighbours in recent months.
Last season they took Birmingham City goalkeeper Callum Preston and Wolves striker Bradley Reid on loan.
Meanwhile,Town youth team graduate Kaiman Anderson has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The striker has agreed a year's deal with a further year's option.
He said: "I am really, really happy and just can't wait to get started and hit the ground running when we come back for pre-season training.
"It was a very easy decision to make. I love the club. I came into Shrewsbury's Under-14s then moved up to the 15s and I was offered my scholarship.
"Then it was two years in the youth team with some appearances in the reserves."
n Shrewsbury have entered into a two-year agreement with Shropshire-based firm Maxwell Amenity to oversee the management of the club's Greenhous Meadow and Sundorne Castle sites.
