Telford Tigers are setting a fierce pace at the top
Telford Tigers are eight points clear at the top of the English Premier after last night's 6-1 victory over second-placed Basingstoke Bison.
A 6-3 success at Milton Keynes Lightning on Saturday night was followed by a demolition of closest challengers Bison on home ice.
Jason Silverthorn, Dan Davies, Joe Miller, Ricky Plant, Nathan Salem and Scott McKenzie were on target against the Lightning.
And last night, it was Sam Zajac, Max Birbarer (2), Peter Szabo (2), and Plant who were the scorers.
Zajac's goal came after just 14 seconds, as the home side emerged determined to establish their authority over Basingstoke.
That win will be sweet revenge for The Tigers, who suffered their first defeat of the season to Basingstoke in September.
Telford are back in British Challenge Cup action next weekend, when they travel to Solway on Saturday, before the visit of Peterborough Phantoms in the EPL on Sunday.
The Tigers NIHL side also enjoyed a winning weekend, as they confirmed their place among the leading sides in the Laidler Conference of their league
Saturday night saw them beat Coventry Blaze 5-1 at Telford Ice Rink, while last night, they overcame Sheffield Senators 6-0.
