Shropshire captain Richard Oliver makes call
Shropshire skipper Richard Oliver has urged his players to sharpen up their act for tomorrow's intriguing MCCA Knock-out Trophy clash with Wales.
The Shifnal opener was critical of his side's bowling and fielding in Wednesday night's T20 friendly defeat against Worcestershire.
And Oliver suspects the Cats will have to be at the top of their game to defeat the Welsh at Shifnal (11am, admission free).
"We will have to be better against Wales and I'm confident we will be much sharper with our batting and bowling," said Oliver
"But we're all raring to go as we have set ourselves high standards and we want to do well again in this competition."
Shropshire lifted the trophy three years ago and ruthlessly breezed past their group opponents with four wins from four.
Tomorrow's winners will meet either Cambridgeshire or Hertfordshire in the last four.
Shropshire: Richard Oliver (Shifnal), Michael Barnard, Alex Blofield, Ed Foster, Elliot Green, Joe Leach, Anthony Parker, Tom Cox (all Shrewsbury), Dan Bowen (Whitchurch), Ben Sanderson (Rotherham Town), Bilal Shafayat (WI Cavaliers), Jono Whitney (Bridgnorth).
