Telford Tigers will be looking to banish memories of recent defeats when they take on Slough Jets and Swindon Wildcats in the English Premier League this weekend.

Saturday presents Telford with the opportunity to gain revenge for last Sunday's overtime defeat to Slough, while the visit of Swindon will be a chance for Telford to reverse two heavy losses earlier in the season.

A win over Sheffield Steeldogs last Saturday, added to the narrow loss to Slough, will have given the Tigers added confidence, although Watkins is still keen to see more goals.

He said: "We are hardly lighting the lamp as much as I would like, but there are other guys who can start scoring regularly. It is always pleasing when we start scoring.

"We have always been creating opportunities as long as keep doing that at some point we will get goals.

"We have been outshooting a lot of these teams."

Sunday's clash with Swindon sees Telford face a team that scored 14 times in just two league games at the start of the season, and in the process restricted the Tigers to just one goal.

But Watkins now has a fully-fit Declan Ryan at his disposal in goal, as well as that new-found confidence after last weekend's success in Sheffield.

He added: "When we played Swindon last time, the biggest difference was the goaltending. Declan had a back injury and Josh Nicholls was playing his first few games at this level.

"We outshot them in those games and in our goaltending and breakdowns we seem to have improved.

"But irrespective of that, Swindon have got a very good offensive unit and a good netminder, so we have to be aware and be clinical."

Saturday's match at The Hangar in Slough starts at 6.30pm, while Sunday's visit of Swindon faces off at 5.30pm.
