Boss Mick McCarthy has revealed his sympathy at Steven Fletcher's struggle to sparkle for Wolves as he declared his wish to restore the £7m record signing as a central striker.
Fletcher has been restricted to just five Premier League starts for Wolves before today but has shown an eye for goal with four in all competitions to top the club scoring charts.
The Scotland international has been frustrated at being played out wide when he has appeared.
But the 23-year-old has also indicated his willingness to knuckle down and play wherever he is needed.
"I feel for Fletcher a bit. He's been in different positions and he'd prefer to be playing up front with a partner," said McCarthy. "But I haven't been able to afford that in the games we've had.
"Maybe if we can, we'll see better of him."
