AFC Telford United striker Danny Carey-Bertram is set to make a loan move away from the New Bucks Head - as former manager Rob Smith's first signing at Hednesford Town.

The Pitmen were unable to complete the paperwork on a one-month deal in time to include him in their squad for their 1-0 win over Evesham United in the Zamaretto League premier division last night.

But the loan is expected to go through in time for him to be re-united with Smith for Saturday's trip to Oxford City.

Telford chief Andy Sinton is happy to sanction the move, insisting Carey-Bertram needs games to regain his match fitness after a spell out through injury.

"Danny was a big part of my plans in pre-season but he got injured against Wolves in the last pre-season game," said Sinton.

"Once the season started we were flying so he found himself down the pecking order.

"He's not even been sitting on the bench for the last couple of weeks and that's not doing us or Danny any good.

"I think the best solution is for him to get some games and bang in some goals so he comes back with his self-esteem and fitness a lot higher."

Meanwhile, the Bucks are running the rule over winger Casimir Monssessie - the former Walsall trialist making a scoring debut in last night's 8-1 friendly victory over Rocester.

Monssessie, who is from the Ivory Coast but had a spell playing in the Belgian second division and is currently based in Wolverhampton, scored the opener in last night's clash at the New Bucks Head.

Northern Ireland international James Lawrie helped himself to a hat-trick while there was also two each for Adam Proudlock and Stefan Bailey in the entertaining contest played out in front of a crowd of 273.
