AFC Telford United have been handed a Bucks battle in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup - with a trip to face EvoStik Premier high-fliers Buxton.

Telford booked their place with a 5-2 victory at home to Zamaretto Southern League premier division side Stourbridge on Saturday.

And they must now try to see off a side from the equivalent level, with Buxton - who, like Telford, are nicknamed the Bucks - having won their tie at Brackley 3-1.

It will be the first time the two sides have met in almost three years - Telford winning 1-0 at Buxton in an FA Trophy tie in November 2007, Carl Rodgers the match-winner on that occasion.

Boss Andy Sinton had been hoping for a home draw, but will still be eager to see his side take another step towards reaching the first round proper and a possible meeting with Football League opposition.

"If we can get into that first round proper, and even beyond, it would be absolutely fantastic," said Sinton.

"That's what the club deserves, that's what the players deserve and it would be nice to get there and get this place packed out."

Andy Brown - on his 100th appearance for the club - Phil Trainer, Liam Murray, Greg Mills and Shane Killock were all on target as Stourbridge's resistance finally crumbled.

But former Shrewsbury winger Gary Hackett's side twice came from behind to level and Sinton admitted there were areas to improve upon.

"I said to the lads after: 'I'm not going to say well done to you for that because there were areas of the game I'm not happy with'," he revealed.

Striker Brown and winger Mills both went off with injuries during the game and Sinton gave a mixed report on their condition.

"I don't think Greg's too bad, he just tweaked his abductor muscle late in the game so we took him off," he added.

"Andy Brown's gone over on his ankle and that one might be more serious, we'll just see how that reacts."
