Rejuvenated Wolves star Greg Halford today revealed how a change in lifestyle has helped turn around his Molineux career.
A year since his £2m move from Sunderland, Halford has responded to boss Mick McCarthy's threat of being sold by re-inventing himself this summer.
The 25-year-old has become teetotal, transformed his diet and had regular sessions with the club's sports psychologist to unlock his potential.
"Hopefully I can be like a new signing this season," said Halford, who has set up goals in three pre-season friendlies and scored a superb free-kick at Hearts.
"My problem is I've always done just enough.
"But I needed to look at everything - fitness, diet, sleeping and drinking.
"I began seeing our sports psychologist (Bill Stevens) towards the end of last season to get my head right.
"Maybe I haven't always had my head in the right place."
On the pitch, Halford is ready to grab his fresh chance with both hands.
"I love living in the Midlands," he said. "I love the set of lads we've got here and the manager's great. I enjoy everything about this club."
