Mick McCarthy has given the injury-stricken Michael Kightly a major boost as the Wolves star faces renewed pressure to get his career back on track.
Kightly became the forgotten man of the survival fight as he was restricted to four disjointed appearances throughout the team's Premier League bow.
Foot and ankle problems left the England under-21 winger on the outside looking in and facing a tough summer programme getting himself ready for pre-season training.
But Kightly is on course to join in with the rest of the squad and the new signings who will be arriving over the course of June and July.
McCarthy said: "Kights has always been in my calculations because he is such a good player and such a good lad. I want him in there. He's in my calculations, yes, and he's going to be our player next season ."
