The 30-year-old, with only one loss in 14 bouts, faces oft-beaten Jason Nesbitt at welterweight and, on paper, it looks an undemanding test.
Nesbitt, from Birmingham, has won only seven of his 94 bouts (two draws), but can hit.
Davies, from Donnington in Telford, lacks dynamite in his fists and has suffered from fragile brows. His bid to lift the British Masters title in a classic against Graeme Higginson was curtailed in the fifth due to terrible cuts.
But Tristan, whose dad runs multi-titled Donnington ABC, has returned a wiser fighter from that setback and oozed class in out-pointing Chris Brophy last month.
He's also undergone plastic surgery in a bid to toughen those rows.
"I box differently now - I have to," said Davies, referring to steps taken to protect scar tissue around both eyes.
"The fitness is getting there and I think this will be the year. I'll be a lot busier and want to either fight for the English title or get a re-match with Higginson. For a title fight, I think I can get down to lightweight."
Decent fighters – and former Welsh international Davies is a decent fighter – find an answer to Nesbitt's raw power.
