Moss lived up to his billing as 5-1 favourite at the start to join the elite band who have won the County Handicap and Merit in the same year.

And the 34-year-old's success helped make up for losing in last year's final as Peter Farmer (St Georges) made it three in a row.

The diary farmer from near Woore thanked everyone for making it such a special day, before paying special tribute to his parents.

"I'd like to thank mum and dad for supporting me over the years - and it hasn't always been easy. Happy Father's Day dad!" said a delighted Moss.
