The former West Indies batting legend is part of a dozen-strong squad pencilled in for the Resource Bank Twenty20 at Wellington on Thursday July 12. Greenidge, now 56, played 108 Test Matches spanning a 17-year career - scoring more than 7,500 runs at an average of almost 45 and notching 19 centuries. It remains to be seen what part Greenidge will play in the Orleton Park extravaganza when he lines up alongside a string of modern day stars.

New Zealand trio Nathan Astle, Chris Cairns and Chris Harris are amongst the headline names in the squad, while Sri Lankan World Cup star Marvin Atapatu is also included in the 12.

Zimbabwe's Henry Olonga and Australian all-rounder Greg Blewett will also be showcasing their considerable talents in the county.

And there is a return to Shropshire for West Indian Tino Best who had a spell playing for Madeley in the Proactive Premier League.

Lashings will do battle with Shropshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire on a packed day when there will be two semi-finals and a final.

The hospitality tent is sold out to a capacity of 640, while tickets for the general public will be available on the day priced £10 adults and £5 for juniors.
