Great Shropshire boxing hope Shane Enright has returned to the ring in emphatic fashion to book his place in the national junior ABA quarter-finals.
The 17-year-old, from Shrewsbury ABC, defeated Northampton's Ricky Pearce in the Midlands final at Drayton Manor Park in his first fight for 11 months.
Fighting in the under-80kgs category and over four rounds for the first time, Enright knocked his opponent down in the opening round en route to a routine 13-3 points success.
"It was a good work-out for Shane and I'm glad it went the four rounds," said Shrewsbury ABC head coach Brian Robb.
"If he had won in the first round, he would still have doubted whether he could have gone four.
"But those questions have been answered now and Shane's looking strong."
Enright will be back in action at the same venue this weekend for a place in the national semi-finals.
