Dragons on brink of crown
St Georges look to have wrapped up the Furrows Premier Bowling League after their 11-3 home victory over Sir John Bayley. The Dragons went into the match with a 10 point lead over Castlefields - the team that beat them in this season's County Cup final.
Castlefields were home to Childs Ercall and failed to repeat last season's 12-2 success, winning 10-4 to give St Georges a strong 11 point advantage.

Shrewsbury's Jade Jones was defending the British Junior Women's Merit crown at Owley Wood in Weaverham at the weekend. The Telepost girl was joined by 2004 winner Cheryl Caswell (Bylet), Holly Bishton (Bowring) and Daisy Weaver (Audlem) in the under-18 knockout.
